SW 592 Family Therapy in Clinical Social Work

Offers introduction to the practice of family, couples, and partnership therapy. Focuses on family theory and cultural context models as they apply to their clients and themselves. Content includes the origins of family therapy, queering and decentering whiteness in family therapy, and application of structural, narrative, bowenian, and functional family therapy models. Students will learn skills in navigating reactivity and applying theories to develop specific intervention skills related to clinical work with partnerships and families.
