The history of bilingual dual language education in the United States is an untold history in the field of education. The timeline and evolution of bilingual dual language education in the United States is examined through a sociocultural lens, in alignment with historical events that shifted educational opportunities for multilingual students. Special emphasis will be placed on the intent & reality of landmark legal cases and how the subsequent policies became part of school settings today.
