Soc 320U Global Capitalism and Inequality

Examines the changes broadly termed globalization, with emphasis on the development of global capitalism and global economic governance and their impact on social, economic, and environmental inequality. Analyzes the historical and current relationship between societies of the global North and South. Critically examines the concept of development, and how globalization has changed the relationship between governments and citizens. Explores responses and counter-movements to the dominant model of economic globalization, as well as alternative development models.
