Ch 431 Advanced Organic Synthesis

Focuses on two key areas of organic synthesis: stereoselective reactions and retrosynthetic analysis. Stereoselective reactions covers acyclic and cyclic conformational analysis, Felkin-Ahn, Cram, and Cram-chelate models, Zimmerman-Traxler transition states, diastereoselective reactions (substrate control) and enantioselective reactions (catalyst control). Retrosynthetic analysis covers synthons, synthetic equivalents, alternating polarity assignments, forward synthetic planning and percent ideality.
