PHE 555 Decolonizing Public Health Research: Epidemiology, Epistemology, & Embodiment
This seminar course will develop students’ understanding of the social production of science related to epidemiological research on population health and health inequities. The course will provide an introduction to core theories and conceptual frameworks related to knowledge, power, power-knowledge relations, and how these relations inform/animate public health research. It will critically interrogate dominant epistemologies and paradigms of research practice, integrating critical theory, decolonial theory, critical race theory, Black feminist theory, and more.

PHE 511 and EPI 512, or instructor permission.
